OVP to open more dorms for COVID-19 frontliners

The Office of the Vice President Leni Robredo is opening more dormitories to house frontliners combatting the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

On her Facebook page, Robredo said the sixth dorm will be located in Diliman, Quezon City.

Nearby hospitals include the East Avenue Medical Center, Lung Center of the Philippines, Philippine Heart Center and National Kidney and Transplant Institute.

Meanwhile, the seventh dorm, which is made possible with the help of St. Paul College Pasig Batch ’96, will be located in Maybunga, Pasig City, which is near the Pasig General Hospital and Tricity Medical Center.

Moreover, the eighth dorm, which is in partnership with the Oyo Spiral Suites, will be located in Pearl Street in Quezon City.

Nearby hospitals include General Malvar Hospital, Fairview General Hospital and Far Eastern University-Nicanor Reyes Medical Foundation.

Robredo also opened dorms for frontliners in Legazpi City, Albay, Mariveles, Bataan and Tacloban City, Leyte, in partnership with The Oriental Hotel and Resorts.

She added the dorm in Baguio City, in partnership with the University of Cordilleras, will be opening soon.

“Bukas po ang ating dorms para sa mga health workers, medical practitioners at iba pang frontliners tulad ng mga security guards, at iba pang volunteers sa mga programa kaugnay sa laban sa COVID-19,” Robredo said.

Rooms, however, are available on a first-come, first-served basis, she added.

For those who want to avail the dorms, send your name, gender, contact number, email address, current address, emergency contact, civil status, designation and working place and shift schedule to ovpfreedormservice@gmail.com or through 0998 591 7408.
