This was the second tranche of the assets procured from China, according to PAF.

The PAF C-130, which brought the medical supplies and equipment, was decontaminated upon its arrival.

On April 2 and 5, PAF cargo planes were tapped to transport a total of 1,600 boxes of donated medical supplies from Quanzhou in Fujian, China to Manila and Davao, respectively.

Chinese Consul General of Davao Li Lin turned over the supplies to retired Major General Manolito Orense, regional director of the Office of Civil Defense XI. This will be donated to the city government of Davao, the Southern Philippines Medical Center, Zamboanga City and Cagayan De Oro City.

Decontamination process was also conducted on the air assets and the donated medical equipment.

The PAF was tapped to use its air assets to quickly deliver medical supplies and equipment all over the country amid the increasing number of COVID-19 cases.

Air assets such as the C-130, C-295, NC212i, N-22, and SF-260 were prepositioned in strategic locations across the country for the delivery of the medical items. —Anna Felicia Bajo/LBG, GMA News
