Davao City gets P462M worth of aid from national gov't to fight COVID-19


Davao City has received at least P462 million worth of assistance for food and personal protective equipment from the national government to help it address the fight against COVID-19 and its impact on the people.

Mayor Sara Duterte said that for the first round of the aid, the city government has distributed over 428,000 food packs,exceeding its target of 350,000.

Sara, daughter of President Rodrigo Duterte, assured her constituents that the city government would be able to cover all families in need in the second and third round of food distribution with funding from the national government under the Bayanihan to Heal As One Act.

“Pag-abot sa atoang Bayanihan We Heal As One funding, gikan sa national government, katong kulang nato, atoa nang i-charge didto (When the funds from the national government under the Bayanihan We Heal As One, we will charge it there),” Sara said in a statement.

The areas which received agri-food packs include: Tibungco, Daliao, Lubogan, Toril Poblacion, and Crossing Bayabas.

The agri-food packs contain vegetables, fish, dressed chicken, among others.

“What we want to do is patch almost everyone who is in need of relief goods,” Sara said. —LDF, GMA News
