Pasay barangay on total lockdown as locals ignore stay-at-home order

Local officials placed Pasay City's Barangay 178 Maricaban under a total lockdown after residents defied stay-at-home orders amid the enhanced community quarantine.

According to a report on GMA News' COVID-19 Bulletin, the barangay had only three coronavirus disease 2019 cases. However, the extreme measure was prompted by residents' resistance to the quarantine.

Barangay officials had sought the assistance of the military to enforce the total lockdown and monitor their streets.

The duration of the total lockdown was indefinite.
