IATF reminds LGUs to submit reports on cash aid implementation

Local government units (LGUs) must submit reports on the implementation of the emergency subsidy program for low-income families affected by the community quarantines amid the COVID-19 crisis.

Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles gave the reminder as the government aims to speed up the distribution of cash aid to the most vulnerable families in the country.

“Hinihintay po namin ang accomplishment report ng mga LGUs na nakatanggap na ng emergency subsidy program para ipamahagi sa kanilang mga constituents. So reminder lamang sa LGUs na i-transmit na ang inyong mga accomplishment reports,” said Nograles, spokesperson for the Inter-Agency Task Force on COVID-19 response.

Under the guidelines of the social amelioration program, the LGUs are required to submit to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) a liquidation report within 15 working days from the completion of the distribution.

Around 18 million low-income households and those in the informal sector will be targeted to receive monthly cash subsidies amounting to P5,000 to P8,000 for two months as mandated by the Bayanihan to Heal as One Act (Republic Act 11469).
