2019 Bar exam results out online on April 29

The results of the 2019 Bar examinations will be released online on April 29, the Supreme Court (SC) said Thursday.

The results will be uploaded to the SC's website after the court's en banc session, the Office of the Bar Confidant said in a notice.

Due to COVID-19 social distancing measures, no visitors will be allowed to enter the court's compound in Manila and the list of passers will not be displayed in the premises. The office advised candidates to stay at home.

Passers were told to wait for further announcements on the clearance procedure, oath-taking ceremony, and roll-signing.

The office said Bar candidates who were conditionally admitted to take the examinations last November and passed will not be allowed to join the oath-taking ceremony unless they submit the requirements within the allowed period.

A total of 7,699 out of the 8,245 candidates finished the exams held at the University of Santo Tomas last year.

The passing rate of the 2018 Bar exam was 22.07%, or 1,800 of the 8,155 candidates who completed the tests. Sean James Borja of the Ateneo de Manila University was the topnotcher with a rating of 89.3060%.

The Bar exams cover political law, international law, labor law and social legislation, civil law, taxation law, mercantile law, criminal law, remedial law, and legal and judicial ethics and practical exercises. — RSJ, GMA News
