CHED: Licensure exams rescheduled amid COVID-19 crisis

Almost 20 licensure examinations have been canceled and rescheduled amid the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) threat, the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) announced Thursday.

CHED chairman J. Prospero de Vera III said the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) has postponed 17 licensure examinations scheduled from March to June.

The cancelled examinations including Environmental Planners Licensure Examination initially sent on June 11-12 and Licensure Examination for Interior Designers on June 23-25 will be scheduled later this year.

Meanwhile, students may take the second exam of licensure examinations that are held two times a year,  said De Vera.

The CHED commended PRC for promptly rescheduling the licensure examinations.

“Public and private higher education institutions (HEIs), students, and parents have been worried about the schedule of licensure examinations and have sought the assistance of the Commission to push for the cancellation or rescheduling of these exams,” said De Vera.

PRC chairman Teofilo Pilando Jr. said they will be working closely with CHED to ease disruptions caused by the pandemic.

“The actions of PRC is a reflection of the whole-of-nation approach where government agencies work together to promptly address problems on the ground," De Vera said.

"CHED is willing to work with PRC to find the most appropriate schedule that will ease the concerns of students and their parents,” he added.—AOL, GMA News
