IATF recommends opening of classes in September

Opening of classes should be scheduled in September, according to the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID).

"Maski po low to moderate risk (areas) considered for 100% closure pa rin—dahil ang mga transmitters ay mga kabataan mula edad 0-20—lahat ng eskwelahan, i-consider po ang late opening sa Setyembre except po sa online learning," Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said.

Higher education institutions in areas under general community quarantine may continue classes to finish the academic year, he added.

Senator Sherwin Gatchalian has earlier said opening of classes in the Philippines cannot be postponed beyond August pursuant to existing laws.
