Some Visayas, Mindanao provinces placed under enhanced community quarantine until May 15

President Rodrigo Duterte has placed some areas in Visayas and Mindanao under enhanced community quarantine to stem the spread of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

Duterte’s spokesperson Harry Roque announced in a televised briefing on Friday that Antique, Iloilo, Cebu and Cebu City, Aklan, and Capiz in the Visayas would be under ECQ until May 15.

Also covered by the strict confinement measure are Davao del Norte and Davao City and Davao de Oro in Mindanao.

Areas under ECQ would undergo evaluation if the restrictions can be relaxed starting May 16, the government said.—AOL, GMA News
