By DONA MAGSINO,GMA News

Former senator Bongbong Marcos lost some weight but is generally fine after he suffered from coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), according to his sister Senator Imee Marcos.

"Okay na okay na, kaya nga lang, pumayat. Natutuwa naman siya kasi excuse to overeat kaya todo-todo 'yung pinakbet at kung anu-ano ang pinapakain sa kaniya," Imee said in a virtual Laging Handa briefing on Wednesday.

"Enjoy naman siya pero nag-iingat kasi there doesn't seem to be any quick fix to this virus. Ayaw naman niyang maka-infect sa iba kasi infectious pa rin daw eh after a certain period. So he's not traveling, he's not moving. He's just being very very careful," she added.

The camp of Bongbong confirmed that he tested positive for COVID-19

after receiving the result from the Research Institute of Tropical Medicine on March 28.

Two weeks ago, the former senator released a vlog narrating his COVID-19 experience. He said he was recovering. There was no mention, however, if he already tested negative twice for the virus.

"I'm still one of the lucky ones. I really am because of the good work of the doctors, mga nurse, mga medtech, all of them. Nandito pa rin ako. Kasi nasa high-risk na ako eh. COVID survivor na tayo," he said.

As of Tuesday, there were 7,958 confirmed cases of COVID-19 recorded in the country. Of this number, 530 died while 975 recovered. —KG, GMA News
