3 airport police tested positive for COVID-19 — MIAA

Three airport police officers tested positive for the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) general manager Ed Monreal said Thursday.

Monreal confirmed at the Laging Handa briefing that one of the three already tested negative in a secondary testing, while another has also tested negative but has not received clearance from their local government.

He said the agency has been implementing safety measures such as the wearing of face masks and personal protective equipment and constant sanitation. He also encouraged personnel to observe proper hygiene.

Airport operations have been drastically reduced as authorities enforced travel restrictions in an effort to arrest the transmission of the virus.
