COVID-19 RESPONSE

CSC sets multiple alternative work arrangements for gov't agencies

The Philippine Civil Service Commission has made ready "multiple alternative work arrangements" for government agencies to further advance state response to the national health emergency due to the coronavirus disease 2019.

CSC's  Resolution No. 2000540 lays down the framework and guidelines for the multiple alternative work arrangements (AWA).

Under the AWA, the CSC added more work setups to the earlier "four-day workweek"  and the "shifting" methods.

Added work arrangements include work-from-home,  skeletal workforce, and staggered working hours arrangements.

Also  CSC Resolution No. 2000540 provides that  a government agency "may adopt work arrangements consisting of a combination of these, or other work arrangements appropriate and applicable to the agency considering the prevailing community quarantine in the area where it is located and the nature of work performed by its employees."

CSC Resolution No. 2000540 or (Revised Interim Guidelines for Alternative Work Arrangements and Support Mechanisms for Workers in the Government During the Period of State of National Emergency Due to COVID-19 Pandemic), was promulgated on 7 May 2020 and circularized via CSC Memorandum Circular No. 10, s. 2020, and contains the complete set of guidelines for implementing the AWA.  —LBG, GMA News
