Duterte gives house, lot to PMA, PNPA class valedictorians, pardons cadets with offenses

President Rodrigo Duterte on Friday said this year’s valedictorians at the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) and the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) would each get a house and lot.

The recipients were Cadet First Class Gemalyn Sugui of the PMA Masidlawin Class of 2020 and Fire Cadet Lei Anne Banico Palermo of the PNPA Mandayug Class of 2020, Duterte said in his speech at the simultaneous virtual commencement exercises held in Malacañang.

The President said the houses and lots were donated by Villar-led Vista Land & Lifescapes Inc.

"These are the beneficiaries of the house and lot. So puro babae," he said.

“Iyong boyfriend na katabi mo, senyasan mo lang na hindi sila puwede pumasok ng bahay na lasing, nagloloko, nagbabae. This will be, sabihin mo, ‘Akin ito. At huwag kang palaboy-laboy diyan."

Duterte, meanwhile, awarded a Rock Island Armory .45 caliber pistol to each of the class “goats” or those who finished last in the overall ranking.

The President identified them as Second Lieutenant Rexllwyn Johanne Olivo Eson (Philippine Army) and Police Lieutenant Al Shadat Hassan Abdurajak (Philippine National Police).

“Goat, I salute you also,” the President said.

Duterte also pardoned cadets who committed various offenses.

“Hindi talaga ako nagtataka, ang tao may kalokohan. We are all entitled to our weird things in life,” he said.

“But... you are now a policeman and a soldier, kindly, kindly hold the honor bestowed by the country upon you sacred in the hollow of your hands. -MDM, GMA News
