Healthcare workers with COVID-19 now 2,394 with 1,153 recoveries

The number of healthcare workers who have contracted the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has climbed to 2,394, the Department of Health (DOH) reported on Monday.

In its daily COVID-19 report, the DOH said 1,153 of these health workers have recovered from the respiratory illness.

The other 1,210 are active cases who are either undergoing treatment or quarantine.

Of this number, 920 are mild cases, 288 are asymptomatic, while two are in severe condition.

Meanwhile, the death toll has remained at 31 since May 10.

Nurses still account for the highest number of COVID-19 cases among health workers with 872 cases, followed by doctors with 676, nursing assistants with 145, medical technologists with 88, and 43 radiologic technologists.

There are 296 non-medical staff were also included in the tally.

The DOH said health workers make up 17 percent of the total COVID-19 cases nationwide.

The Philippines has logged 14,319 confirmed cases with 3,323 recoveries and 873 deaths as of Monday afternoon.  -- BAP, GMA News
