Health workers with COVID-19 now at 2,669; recoveries now at 1,438


The Department of Health (DOH) on Tuesday reported that 63 more healthcare workers have contracted the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) as of June 1, bringing the total to 2,669.

In its daily COVID-19 report, the DOH said 1,438 of these health workers have recovered from the respiratory illness, while the death toll has remained at 32 since May 29.

The other 1,199 medical workers are active cases, undergoing treatment or under quarantine.

Of this number, 997 are mild cases, 201 are asymptomatic, while one is in severe condition.

Health workers still account for 15 percent of the total cases nationwide.

The Philippines has logged 18,997 cases with 4,063 recoveries and 966 deaths as of Tuesday afternoon. -- BAP, GMA News
