PNP records 326 COVID-19 cases among its personnel —tally

The number of Philippine National Police personnel infected with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) increased to 326.

Latest data from the PNP indicated that of the total number, 174 personnel already recovered from the illness while fatality remains at four.

The PNP also recorded 720 probable COVID-19 cases while 683 personnel were listed as suspected cases.

The police organization has developed a new set of guidelines to be observed by all PNP offices and units which adheres to the minimum health standards amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

PNP chief Police General Archie Francisco Gamboa has said the PNP implemented a revised deployment scheme or adjusted work schedule to ensure that all PNP personnel, particularly front-liners, are free from COVID-19.

Gamboa said the PNP also added funding for test kits, personal protective gears, collapsible tents, hospital beds, IT equipment, connectivity, and non-lethal police intervention equipment amid the health crisis. —LBG, GMA News
