Ramon Revilla Sr. spared from angioplasty, says son Bong

Former Senator Ramon Revilla Sr. was spared a heart procedure on Wednesday after his angiogram yielded good results, according to his son, Senator Ramon Bong Revilla Jr.

"Katatapos lang po ng angiogram ni Daddy and the results were unremarkable! Thank God his heart is okay at walang anumang nakita na problema. He will not need an angioplasty," Bong Revilla said on Facebook.

"Baka puwede na rin daw siya tanggalin sa ventilator soon if he continues his progress at walang maging ibang problema moving forward," he added.

In a video posted by Bong Revilla, the 93-year-old Revilla, also a former movie actor, was seen lying on a hospital bed. Unable to speak due to the ventilator hooked to him, he just winked and gave a thumbs up to the camera.

At one point, the former lawmaker was also seen being surrounded by his family members wearing personal protective gear while praying for him.

Bong Revilla thanked the public for joining their family in prayer for the recovery of their patriarch.

On May 31, the elder Revilla was brought to St. Luke's Medical Center-Global City and was put on ventilator after experiencing difficulty in breathing.

His condition stabilized the following day, according to his grandson, Cavite Vice Governor Jolo Revilla. --KBK, GMA News
