Number of health workers with COVID-19 rises to 2,787; recoveries at 1,624


The number of healthcare workers who have contracted the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) climbed to 2,787 as of June 10, the Department of Health (DOH) said Wednesday.

In its daily COVID-19 report, the DOH said 1,624 of these health workers have recovered from the respiratory disease, while the death toll has remained at 32 since May 29.

The other 1,131 medical workers are active cases undergoing treatment or quarantine.

Of this number, 986 are mild cases, 144 are asymptomatic, while one is in severe condition.

Health workers still account for 12 percent of the total cases nationwide.

The Philippines has logged 23,732 COVID-19 cases, including 4,895 recoveries and 1,027 deaths, as of Wednesday afternoon.  — Julia Mari Ornedo/BM, GMA News
