200 locally stranded individuals brought to Villamor Airbase

After spending days outside the Ninoy Aquino International Airport while waiting for their flights, some 200 locally stranded individuals (LSIs)were finally given shelter when they were brought to the Villamor Airbase on Friday.

But the LSIs wish they would not have to stay at the airbase for long.  What they want is to be reunited with their families in the provinces, according to Raffy Tima's report on "24 Oras."

"'Yun pong mga walang ticket, hinihiwalay ho muna at nakikipag-coordinate tayo sa Armed Forces of the Philippines kung puwedeng magkaroon sila ng mga sweeper flights," Transportation assistant secretary Eymard Eje said.

Authorities have begun coordinating with airlines and local government units for LSIs whose flights have been repeatedly cancelled.

—Joahna Lei Casilao/LDF, GMA News
