Drilon supports extension of GCQ in Metro Manila

By DONA MAGSINO, GMA News

Senate Minority Leader Franklin Drilon on Tuesday welcomed the extension of the general community quarantine over Metro Manila as he stressed that the upward trend of COVID-19 cases in the region "necessitates" it.

"If this upward trend continues, it behooves the government to pause and recalibrate its strategies," Drilon said in a message.

The government should assess the implementation of the "three Ts" or testing, tracing, and treatment, and determine where it is lacking, according to the senator.

"We cannot and should never let our guard down against this virus," he added.

On Monday, President Rodrigo Duterte extended the implementation of GCQ in the capital region until June 30.
