All major DPWH projects in 'continuous' construction —Villar

Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark Villar on Friday said construction of all major projects of his department is continuing amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Sa tingin ko naman dahil nakapagsimula kami ulit, hindi magiging malaki ang delay natin," Villar said at the Laging Handa briefing.

While some constructions had to be paused during the enhanced community quarantine, Villar said workers have since worked "double time" and 24/7.

"Kaya sa tingin ko naman sa ating mga big ticket projects, makakahabol pa rin kami sa deadline," he said.

After the recent opening of the C3-R10 section of the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) Harbor Link, Villar said the next major project to be completed is the Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway.

The official earlier said the department is planning to install bike lanes on EDSA and other major roads in Metro Manila as more people use bikes in the "new normal."

Villar said his department is implementing strict health guidelines in construction sites. —AOL, GMA News
