Joint Task Force COVID Shield commander Police Lieutenant General Guillermo Eleazar on Friday said police chiefs and directors were instructed to coordinate with local government officials in establishing a "one-stop shop," which will cater to the needs of locally stranded individuals.

"As per the guidance of Secretary of the Interior and Local Government Eduardo Año, the ‘one-stop shop' shall provide prompt and efficient assistance to all LSIs within their area of responsibility, particularly in securing medical clearance certificate and travel authority,” Eleazar said in a press statement.

He said the one-stop shops in localities could be set up inside municipal and city halls, police stations, and areas suggested by the local chief executives.

Eleazar added that local chief executives were also advised to have a hotline number for their one-stop shops to easily contact LSIs who have been wanting to go back to their home provinces.

“These hotline numbers shall be published in social media accounts or website of the LGUs. All punong barangays were also advised to initiate information dissemination in their respective communities about the one-stop shop in order to inform and assist the LSIs in their respective barangays,” he said.

The police official further reminded the public to practice health and safety measures when going to one-stop shops, which are expected to report regularly to the Inter-Agency Task Force on the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases regarding the status of the LSIs.

Eleazar also said the task force would be sending copies of the nationwide Travel Protocol Flowchart, which they crafted in order to answer all the frequently-asked questions about domestic travels, to one-stop shops for information dissemination purposes.—AOL, GMA News
