Senate flies Philippine flag at half-mast for ex-Sen. Ramon Revilla Sr.

The Senate on Saturday flew its flag at half-mast to express grief over the death of former Senator Ramon Revilla Sr., who passed away on Friday at the age of 93.

Also on Saturday, his son and namesake, Senator Ramon "Bong" Revilla Jr., honored his father on Facebook, saying he "lived a full life." The elder Revilla died after succumbing to heart failure.

and Senate leaders have likewise extended their  condolences to the family of the late legislator and movie icon.

“Former Senator Revilla, also known as Hari ng Agimat, was a pillar of the movie industry prior to his entry to politics,” said presidential spokesperson Harry Roque Jr.

Senate President Vicente Sotto III shared life lessons he learned from Revilla, while Senate Majority Leader Juan Miguel Zubiri underscored how Revilla did his best in the film industry and in public service. -MDM, GMA News
