Family, friends honor ex-Sen. Ramon Revilla Sr. by playing his films at wake

Family and friends of former Senator Ramon Revilla Sr. on Saturday honored the late movie star by playing his films at his wake at the family compound in Bacoor, Cavite.

In a Facebook live, his son, Senator Ramon "Bong" Revilla Jr, showed his relatives and other mourners viewing the movie marathon,  observing social distancing and other safety protocols.

Some visitors were also seen wearing either a face mask or face shield, as the senator reminded them to observe physical distancing.

"Sa lahat po ng mga nakikiramay, amin pong pasasalamat sa inyong lahat... Again, thank you for the prayers," Bong said.

A Mass was also held at the wake of Revilla, who passed away on Friday at 93.

Revilla died due to heart failure but his relatives clarified that he did not die from the coronavirus disease 2019.

"Naintindihan po namin 'yung mga hindi makarating dito because of COVID-19... Mabuti na po 'yung nag-iingat... Dama po ng aking ama ang pagmamahal ng bawat isa sa inyo," Revilla said. -MDM, GMA News
