The total amount of cash assistance disbursed nationwide under the second tranche of the Social Amelioration Program has reached P6.88 billion as of Friday, the Department of Social Welfare and Development said Sunday.
Based on DSWD’s latest data, as of July 3, P6.88 billion worth of subsidy has been distributed nationwide with a total of 1,362,911 families served.
“Patuloy ang pamamahagi ng emergency subsidy sa second tranche para sa pang araw-araw na pangangailangan ng ating mga kababayan,” DSWD said.
The qualified beneficiaries for the program’s second tranche are the family beneficiaries of the first tranche that are under enhanced community quarantine as of May per Executive Order No. 112, series of 2020, and a Memorandum from the Office of the Executive Secretary dated May 2.
These include the National Capital Region; Region III, except Aurora; Region IV-A; Benguet; Pangasinan; Iloilo; Cebu Province; Bacolod; Davao City; Albay Province; and Zamboanga City.
Under the Social Amelioration Program, low-income families will be given cash assistance ranging from P5,000 to P8,000 per month for two months to help them cope with the COVID-19 pandemic. —Ma. Angelica Garcia/KG, GMA News
