11 new COVID-19 cases recorded Saturday in 3 Philippine provinces

At least 11 fresh COVID-19 cases were reported in three provinces in the Philippines on Saturday, according to 24-Oras News Alert.

Batangas province recorded 427 total confirmed infections, including six new cases  in Batangas City, of which five are health care workers who had been exposed to their patients.

One new case was reported in Bauan town, and one in the municipality of Taysan –a 63-year-old male. Of the 427 cases in the province, 221 have recovered, and 34 died.

In Zambales province in Central Luzon, a 78-year-old female was its 34th case, who is now confined at a hospital in Iba town. Of the 34 cases, 30 have recovered, and one died.

In Negros Oriental province in Central Visayas, there were two reported new cases –one is a soldier and another is a locally stranded individual (LSI) who came from Tondo, Manila –bringing the provincial total to 57. Of the number, 22 have recovered, and three have died.

Meanwhile, Cebu City brought good news for the day, reporting 30 newly recovered cases. Of the number, 11 are health care workers, five are workers from the city government, and five call center agents.

As of Saturday, the city has a total 7,246 confirmed cases, with 3,650 recoveries and 356 deaths. —LBG, GMA News
