QC COVID-19 cases at 5,113 on July 18

The Health Department confirmed that there were 5,113 COVID-19 cases in Quezon City as of 8 a.m.-Saturday, the QC government reported in a July 18, 2020 bulletin.

Of this number, 5,038 cases had complete addresses in the city, while the total number of cases validated by the QC Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit and district health offices were at 5,013.

There were 2,022 active cases in the city.

Meanwhile, the city government reported that there were 49 new recoveries reported, bringing the total number of recoveries to 2,725.

The death toll stood at 266 after three new fatalities were recorded.

Quarantine facilities

As of July 18, the HOPE 1 quarantine facility was fully occupied with no beds available for new COVID positive and suspected patients.

Meanwhile, the HOPE 2 facility had 291 beds occupied by confirmed and suspected COVID-19 patients with 85 beds available for use. Those who had been tested in QC’s community-based testing sites are brought to HOPE 2 for self-isolation while waiting for their results.

At HOPE 3, which was opened to accommodate confirmed and suspected COVID-19 nursing mothers and babies, there were 12 beds available out of 82.

The QC government also reported on the bed capacity for suspected and confirmed COVID-19 cases in city-owned hospitals as of July 18, 2020:

• Novaliches District Hospital - total bed capacity of 21, 19 occupied
• Rosario Maclang Bautista General Hospital - total bed capacity of 31, 24 occupied
• Quezon City General Hospital - total bed capacity of 103, 97 occupied

Special concern lockdown

The QC government also reported that the following areas had been placed under a special concern lockdown due to the high number and clustering of COVID-19 cases:

• Insurance St. Extension in Sangandaan
• Loans St., Alley 4, in Sangandaan
• 70 Mendez Road in Baesa
• FVR Building along Guirayan Street in Dona Imelda
• Fatima St. cor. Liwanag in San Vicente
• 14G Maayusin Ext. in San Vicente
• Maparaan St. to 87 Kalayaan St. in Central
• Ruby Stone HOA in Kaligayahan
• 127 Rebisco Road in Nagkaisang Nayon
• Sitio Ruby in Fairview
• 5A Cenacle Compound in Culiat (starting July 18)
• 233 Mariveles St.  in Paang Bundok (starting July 18)
• 238 Mayon Ave. in Maharlika (starting July 18)
