PNP records 26 additional COVID-19 cases; total at 1,564


The Philippine National Police recorded on Monday 26 new cases of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) among its personnel, bringing the total tally to 1,564.

Latest data from the PNP showed that recoveries, meanwhile, rose to 608 after 12 more employees recovered from the respiratory illness, while the death toll within the PNP remained at nine.

As of 6 p.m. of July 20, there were 1,604 suspected COVID-19 cases and 723 probable cases.

The PNP urged its employees experiencing symptoms similar to COVID-19 to contact its health service.

Nationwide, cases of COVID-19 reached 68,898 on Monday with 23,072 recoveries and 1,835 fatalities. — Ma. Angelica Garcia/BM, GMA News
