PCOO suspends work after employee tests positive for COVID-19

The Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) suspended work beginning on Tuesday to give way for the disinfection of the New Executive Building inside Malacañang Complex and swab tests after one of its employees contracted COVID-19.

PCOO Undersecretary for Administration and Legal Affairs Marvin Gatpayat issued the advisory on Monday, which was confirmed by PCOO Secretary Martin Andanar.

Gatpayat said the COVID-19 testing would cover “primary and secondary contacts” of the infected employee.

“Rest assured that despite the work suspension, the delivery of essential and timely public information will not be hampered by this circumstance,” Andanar said in a statement.

“The daily briefings being held at the NEB will continue to operate virtually or remotely to keep all Filipinos updated on the government's actions in fighting the pandemic and managing its effects.”
