COVID-19 cases in PNP now at 1,643

The number of police officers infected with the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19)  reached 1,643 on Wednesday after the Philippine National Police reported 43 more infections.

Two additional cops, meanwhile, recovered from the respiratory illness, bringing the total number of recoveries to 612.

The death toll remained at nine.

The police organization also recorded 725 probable COVID-19 cases and 1,789 suspected cases.

The PNP urged its employees experiencing symptoms similar to COVID-19 to contact its health service.

Nationwide, cases of COVID-19 in the Philippines jumped to 72,269 on Wednesday, including 23,623 recoveries and 1,843 fatalities. — Ma. Angelica Garcia/BM, GMA News
