PNP: COVID-19 infected personnel now at 2,008

The number of police officers infected with COVID-19 has climbed to 2,008 on Sunday after the Philippine National Police reported 76 more infections.

Ten more police officers, meanwhile, recovered from the viral disease, raising the total number of recoveries to 716.

The PNP earlier on Sunday announced that the death toll increased to 10

after a 46-year-old male police officer succumbed to the illness on Wednesday.

The police organization also recorded 725 probable COVID-19 cases and 2,445 suspected cases.

The PNP urged its employees experiencing symptoms similar to COVID-19 to contact its health service.

Nationwide, cases of COVID-19 soared to 80,448, including 26,110 recoveries and 1,932 deaths. — Ma. Angelica Garcia/BM, GMA News
