Robredo to attend DepEd simulation of blended learning classes

Vice President Leni Robredo is set to attend another simulation class employing blended learning methods as the Department of Education (DepEd) gears up for the opening of the upcoming school year later this month.

In her weekly radio show, Robredo said the first simulation she attended was in July in the Navotas School District.

Halimbawa iyong Navotas sobrang husay. Pero paano iyong mga pinakamaliliit sa pinakamalalayong lugar?” she said. “Dapat sana iyong simulation kabahagi iyon. Pero iyong August 10, mag-aattend ako noon.”

Robredo pointed out that the government must address issues with blended learning such as the conditions of disadvantaged and rural school districts, the lack of electricity and internet connectivity in some areas, as well as the lack of parental guidance in some households.

Kasi ang kawawa, mga bata,” she said.

Robredo added that the Office of the Vice President has been setting up community hubs to address the concerns in some areas.

The vice president earlier urged the public to donate old but functional gadgets to help prepare students for distance learning.

Napakarami nilang ginagawa ngayon. Kami, very much willing to help DepEd—sinabi namin ito sa kanila. Ang daming mahuhusay sa DepEd,” she said. — Julia Mari Ornedo/BM, GMA News
