PNP still evaluating how many of its medical reserve force can assist in fight vs. COVID-19

The Philippine National Police (PNP) is still evaluating how many of its medical reserve force can assist in the fight against COVID-19 pandemic, PNP deputy chief for administration Police Lieutenant General Camilo Pancratius Cascolan said on Wednesday.

Cascolan told GMA News Online that there are 339 policemen nationwide who are also graduates of medical technology.

"We'll evaluate how many can be deployed," Cascolan said in a message.

This came after PNP chief Police General Archie Francisco Gamboa directed Cascolan to evaluate the current situation of the police organization's medical reserve force amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

President Rodrigo Duterte wanted security forces' medical personnel to be tapped in the fight against COVID-19.

Duterte even ordered the PNP to clean up their precincts as he wants police stations to serve as COVID-19 vaccination centers once the vaccine is available.—AOL, GMA News
