PNP logs 15th COVID-19 death

The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Thursday reported that another police officer died of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), raising its death toll to 15.

According to the PNP, the 52-year-old cop from the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, died on Thursday.

Meanwhile, the number of police personnel infected with illness climbed to 3,153 with 55 more infections.

Latest data from the PNP showed that of the new cases, 27 came from the National Capital Region Police Office, nine from the National Operational Support Unit, five from Police Regional Office (PRO) VI, three from PRO IV-A and the National Headquarters, two from PRO VII, PRO Cordillera and PRO BAR, and one each from PRO VIII and the National Administrative Unit.

Moreover, 25 more policemen recovered from the disease, bringing the total number of recoveries to 2,283.

So far, there are 2,546 suspected COVID-19 cases and 751 probable cases within the PNP.

The PNP reminded its employees experiencing symptoms similar to COVID-19 to contact its health service. -- BAP, GMA News
