Hatid Tulong convenor to LSIs: Register and wait for official communication

Presidential Management Staff Assistant Secretary Joseph Encabo on Friday urged locally stranded individuals (LSIs) not to believe text messages from fellow LSIs regarding trips to home provinces.

Interviewed on Dobol B sa News TV, Encabo, lead convenor of the Hatid Tulong Program, also reminded LSIs that they have to register to the program in order to be accommodated to trips to the provinces.

He said these registered LSIs should wait for official communication from the program's secretariat for instruction.

Encabo said the reported crowding at the Libigan ng mga Bayani and Rizal Memorial Sports Complex happens when unregistered LSIs troop to the areas upon learning from fellow LSIs regarding available trips.

Encabo stressed that the program is doing everything it can to help LSIs -- or individuals stuck in Metro Manila due to the enforcement of community quarantine -- return to their home provinces.

LSIs can register by going to the offices of the Philippine Coast Guard, Philippine National Police, the Department of Transportation, and the Department of Labor and Employment, among others, and providing them with details about themselves and their destination.

—KBK, GMA News
