COVID-19 cases in House of Representatives now at 51

The House of Representatives on Saturday reported a new coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) infection, bringing the total tally of cases in the agency to 51.

House Secretary-General Jose Luis Montales said that the employee was from the Bills and Index Service who reported for work from August 10 to August 12.

The patient was hospitalized due to pneumonia and persistent hiccups. He is currently in a stable condition.

Authorities are now tracing individuals he came in contact with.

There are 11 active cases within the House of Representatives, according to Montales.

Meanwhile, the Philippines has reported a total of 187,249 cases with 114,921 recoveries and 2,966 fatalities. -MDM, GMA News
