Robredo on calls for RevGov: ‘Ang laking kalokohan niyan’

Vice President Leni Robredo did not mince words on Sunday in response to a pro-Duterte group pushing for a revolutionary government amid the coronavirus pandemic.

In her weekly radio show, Robredo underscored that now is not the time to discuss a shift to a revolutionary government.

Bakit hinahayaan ‘yung mga ganitong exercise na mangyari at a time like this?” she asked.

The Mayor Rodrigo Roa Duterte-National Executive Coordinating Committee earlier held a meeting calling for a revolutionary government anew.

Robredo urged the administration to shut down the renewed calls.

Malacañang earlier assured the public that the government was focused on addressing the COVID-19 menace and not on calls for a revolutionary government.

The Philippine National Police added that it was monitoring the group leading the call.

Tapos on the other hand ang pinag-uusapan pagpalit ng Konstitusyon, pagdeklara ng RevGov… Maling mali talaga siya,” Robredo said.

Duterte himself has repeatedly advocated for a revolutionary government, first during the 2016 presidential election then again in 2017 as a threat against “destabilizers” of the government. — DVM, GMA News
