The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) on Tuesday urged local government units (LGUs) to submit as soon as possible the Social Amelioration Card (SAC) forms of beneficiaries as 97,395 of these are yet to be uploaded.

In a  press briefing, DSWD Undersecretary Rene Glen Paje said the LGUs are given a week to submit all the necessary documents in connection with the Social Amelioration Program (SAP).

“Tayo po ay umaapela at nakikiusap sa ating mga LGU na agarang aksyunan at isumite ang mga kinakailangang impormasyon at datos ng mge benepisyaryo,” Paje said.

Aside from this, Paje added that 154,356 of the beneficiaries have incomplete information such as contact numbers and middle initials.

These beneficiaries should undergo validation, Paje noted.

As of Tuesday, the DSWD undersecretary said that P79.8 million of the P80 billion fund for the second tranche of SAP have already been distributed to 13,364,913 beneficiary families.

Around 1.3 million of the beneficiaries who already received the cash subsidy are Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) members while 5.7 million are non-4Ps members.

Paje added that 3.1 million ‘waitlisted’ low income families nationwide and 1.7 million families from enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) areas have received the cash assistance.

Around 150,000 transportation network vehicle service (TNVS) and public utility vehicle (PUV) drivers have also claimed the SAP benefit.

Aside from them, around 33,000 families from ECQ  areas have already received the aid, Paje said.

The program aims to distribute cash aid of up to P16,000 in two months to low-income families affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

DSWD said waitlisted families are set to receive P16,000 for the two tranches while original beneficiaries who already received their first tranche last April to May will receive their second tranche of P8,000.—AOL, GMA News
