House COVID-19 cases now at 60

The number of COVID-19 cases at the House of Representatives climbed to 60, of which 14 are active, after another employee tested positive for the disease.

According to House Secretary-General Jose Luis Montales, the congressional staffer who tested positive for COVID-19 last reported for work on August 17.

He developed symptoms and got tested while in the province.

Montales reminded members of the House community to take extra precautions in order to prevent the further transmission of the disease.

He said that employees should only report to work physically if there was an absolute necessity.

Those who were experiencing or had experienced any COVID-19 symptom within the last 14 days should no longer report to work.

Montales said appropriate penalties will be imposed on violators of the House's health and safety protocols. — DVM, GMA News
