PNP reports 46 new COVID-19 cases; total rises to 4,179

The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Tuesday reported 46 new coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) infections, bringing the total tally within the agency to 4,179.

According to the PNP, total recoveries also rose to 2,842 after four more patients recovered from the illness. Meanwhile, the death toll remained at 16.

At present, the PNP has recorded 2,867 suspect and 710 probable cases.

PNP personnel with symptoms similar to COVID-19 are advised to contact the PNP Health Service.

Meanwhile, the Philippines has reported a total of 224,264 confirmed cases with 158,012 recoveries and 3,597 fatalities. — Joahna Lei Casilao/BM, GMA News
