Duterte to join Jordan-led meeting on security challenges

President Rodrigo Duterte will participate on Wednesday in a virtual meeting with fellow world leaders on security challenges.

Speaking to state-run PTV, Duterte’s spokesperson Harry Roque said the President would take part in the Aqaba Process, which is in an initiative of Jordan’s King Abdullah II.

According to a report by the Jordan News Agency, Petra, this year’s edition of the Aqaba Process would focus on addressing risks arising from the COVID-19 pandemic. The Jordanian monarch launched the Aqaba Process in 2015.

Duterte visited Jordan in September 2018, a first for a Philippine head of state. —KG, GMA News
