Roque tests negative for COVID-19

Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque on Friday said he tested negative for COVID-19.

“Negative,” he said in a message when asked for the result of the confirmatory swab test.

He also posted the development on Twitter.

“Happy to say that I tested negative yesterday. My security aide who previously tested positive also yielded a negative result. Thanks for your prayers. Back to NEB (New Executive Building inside Malacañang Complex) on Monday,” he said.

Roque earlier announced that he placed himself under quarantine after his security aide contracted the virus. He held two press briefings at his home this week.

The Palace official also had self-quarantined after Interior Secretary Eduardo Año, who was with Roque in a meeting with President Rodrigo Duterte in Davao on August 10, revealed that he tested positive again for the virus.

Año has since recovered from the disease. —Virgil Lopez/KBK/RSJ, GMA News
