PCOO's Andanar prays for Tagle's speedy recovery

Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Secretary Martin Andanar is wishing for Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle’s immediate recovery after the prelate was reported positive for COVID-19.

“We extend our prayers of speedy recovery and good health to Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle following the unfortunate news that he had recently contracted COVID-19, and entreat the public to pray for the good Cardinal as well,” Andanar said.

“May his recovery be immediate so that he can continue to fulfill his good works, and be an inspiration to the Catholic faithful to continue the fight against COVID-19 virus and be on our way to heal and recover as one nation,” he said.

On Friday, the news service of the media office of the  Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines has reported that Tagle has tested positive for the virus. 

Tagle, the former archbishop of Manila, is the Vatican's prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples. 

Vatican News reported that the Holy See Press Office had confirmed that Tagle has tested positive for the virus after a swab test.

It said Tagle became the first head of a Vatican dicastery with COVID-19. —LBG, GMA News
