IATF approves ‘staycation’ in areas under GCQ


The Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) gave its approval to “staycations” in areas under a general community quarantine amid the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, according to Bam Alegre’s report on “24 Oras News Alert.”

Based on the recommendation of the Department of Tourism (DOT), individuals may stay in accredited accommodation enterprises of the DOT within the area they are already living in.

This means that Individuals staying in the National Capital Region may take a staycation in hotels or such facilities in the region, depending on the requirements of the local government units.

Authorities will also set a limit on the number of guests allowed, with an overnight stay being the minimum staycation length.

The DOT is still laying down other guidelines for the staycation.
