Duterte hits opposition: ‘Wag kayo maniwala sa dilawan’

President Rodrigo Duterte on Monday night urged the public to not believe the criticisms being hurled by the so-called “dilawan” opposition amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

“‘Wag po sana kayong maniwala diyan sa mga dilawan, sa oposisyon dito na hampas dito, hampas doon, kung ano pinagsasabi,” Duterte said in his nationally-televised address.

“For as long as the virus lives on this planet, we are in real danger,” the chief executive added.

He said believing in what the opposition says will put more stress to one.

“’Wag ho kayo maniwala. Dito lang. Kami dito lahat, Senator (Bong) Go, Secretary (Carlito) Galvez, Secretary (Francisco) Duque, Secretary (Delfin) Lorenzana, Secretary (Eduardo) Año… we did not joined government to lie,” Duterte said.

“We do not have any obligation at all to lie, bakit kami magsisinungaling eh hindi namin trabaho ‘yan at ‘di naman kami pumasok sa trabaho para magsinungaling,” he said. “Maski noong grade 1 o 2, alam na namin ano ang pagmamahal sa bayan.”

Further, Duterte asked the public to listen to reason.

“‘Wag kang basta na lang maniwala na ganito, ganito,” he said.—LDF, GMA News
