BuCor spokesperson tests positive for COVID-19


Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) spokesperson Gabriel Chaclag on Saturday said he has tested positive for COVID-19.

Chaclag had a swab test done on Tuesday and the result was released on Saturday, the BuCor said in a statement.

The BuCor public information office chief is already in quarantine and has mild symptoms.

The bureau advised BuCor personnel, staff and all those who may have interacted with Chaclag since last week to visit the Directorate for Health Services and have a swab test done.

The BuCor also said Director General Gerald Bantag had a swab  test done after two of his close-in staff tested positive for COVID-19.

Bantag's swab test result is expected to be released by Monday.

The Philippines has recorded a total of 279,526 cases of COVID-19 as of Friday. Of this number, 4,830 died and 208,790 recovered. —KG, GMA News
