Health facilities offering COVID-19 swab tests for P1,750 to P2,000

Malacañang on Tuesday released a list of health facilities that offer COVID-19 swab tests for P1,750 to P2,000.

The health facilities are as follows:

• Philippine Children's Medical Center in Quezon City
• Dr. Jose N. Rodriguez Memorial Hospital in Caloocan City
• Jose B. Lingad Memorial General Hospital in San Fernando, Pampanga
• Perpetual Help Medical Center in Las Piñas City
• National Kidney and Transplant Institute in Quezon City
• Lung Center of the Philippines in Quezon City
• Western Visayas Medical Center in Iloilo City
• Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center in Cebu City
• University of Cebu Medical Center in Mandaue City
• Eastern Visayas Regional Medical Center in Tacloban City
• Baguio General Hospital in Baguio City
• Zamboanga City Medical Center in Zamboanga City
• St. Paul's Hospital in Tacloban City
• Teresita L.Jalandoni Provincial Hospital in Silay City, Negros Occidental
• Cebu Molecular Laboratory in Cebu City

“All these hospitals are now equipped to perform both individual and pooled testing at a reduced cost, and are capable of producing and releasing test results within 48 hours,” the Palace said in a press statement.

“With pooled testing, [the] cost of swab test can be reduced to P550-P1,000 depending on the prevalence.”

The RT-PCR or swab test remains the gold standard for confirmatory testing because it detects the virus that causes COVID-19.—AOL, GMA News
