PNP reports 34 new COVID-19 cases

The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Tuesday reported 34 additional cases of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) among its personnel, bringing the total number to 5,496.

Latest data from the PNP showed that total recoveries also rose to 4,164 after 37 more employees recovered from the illness.

The death toll, meanwhile, remained at 17.

So far, total active cases within the police organization are at 1,315.

Nationwide, cases of COVID-19 reached 291,798 on Tuesday with 5,049 deaths and 230,643 recoveries. -- BAP, GMA News
