COVID-19 infected cops now at 5,650 —PNP

The Philippine National Police on Thursday reported 119 new cases of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) among its personnel, raising the total tally to 5,650.

The PNP also said total recoveries climbed to 4,407 after 216 more police officers recovered from the respiratory illness.

The death toll, meanwhile, remained at 17.

So far, there are 1,226 active COVID-19 cases within the police organization.

Nationwide, COVID-19 cases rose to 296,755 on Thursday, including 5,127 deaths and 231,928 recoveries.

Metro Manila still logged the highest number of newly reported cases at 802, followed by Laguna with 292, Batangas with 152, Cavite with 144, and Negros Occidental with 87. — Ma. Angelica Garcia/BM, GMA News
