Pope Francis names Charles Brown apostolic nuncio to Philippines

Pope Francis has chosen Archbishop Charles John Brown to be the next apostolic nuncio to the Philippines, the news service of the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines media office has reported.

Brown will take over the nunciature left by Archbishop Gabriele Caccia towards the end of 2019 to become the Vatican’s Permanent Observer to the United Nations.

The Philippines had been without a representative of the Vatican since then.

Brown will leave Albania, where he has served as apostolic nuncio since 2017. -NB, GMA News
